Spate of fires

A fire that had engulfed a tree on Happy Valley Lane yesterday in Pembroke was successfully extinguished by the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service.

Around 4.30 a.m., Police attended the scene and observed the tree ablaze. Subsequently, fire personnel arrived on the scene.

Also, at 4.05 a.m. yesterday, Police attended a reported fire near the junction of King Street and Dundonald Street in Pembroke.

On arrival officers observed an abandoned car engulfed in flames. Fire personnel also attended the scene and extinguished the blaze.

Unfortunately, the car was completely destroyed by the fire.

Meanwhile, in yet another fire incident, at 4 a.m. yesterday, Police attended a reported fire at the junction of Dundonald Street and Union Street in Pembroke. On arrival officers observed a pile of trash in flames, before firefighters arrived on scene to extinguish it.

Police say the incidents are being treated as suspicious and inquiries into these matters are underway.
