Diabetes Association gets a $25,000 boost from Lindo's

THE Bermuda Diabetes Association received a $25,000 boost from the Lindo’s Group of Companies. The cash was raised by participants in the annual Lindo’s to Lindo’s Run & Walk, held on March 11.

Said company IT manager Zach Moniz: “This year’s partnership with the Bermuda Diabetes Association struck a genuine chord within the community.

“We saw extraordinary interest in the Lindo’s to Lindo’s race this year with nearly three times more participants in the race compared to last year. It has been a really gratifying response.”

The Diabetes Association was equally enthusiastic: “We are grateful beyond words for this remarkable donation, which will be put to immediate use,” said Sarah Burrows.

“With about 9,000 persons in Bermuda living with diabetes, nearly all of us are touched in one way or another by diabetes.

“What I find special about Lindo’s sponsorship of this event is their genuine commitment to the community-they are simply determined to make certain this community is cared for.”

The charity received an additional $9,000 from race organisers, the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Club.
