Police are this evening searching for man believed to be armed and on the loose around Vesey Street.

Officers have sealed off Vesey Street and at one stage told pupils at the nearby Somersfield Academy to go back indoors.

It is thought there was an attempted robbery earlier in the day involving a firearm when the man was confronted by Police before he fled.
