Lightbourne next?

Kyle Lightbourne is among a shortlist of candidates to take over the vacant coaching post at PHC Zebras.

Zebras? head coach Mark Wade ? a PHC Raiders team-mate of Lightbourne ? resigned following Sunday?s FA Cup quarter-final loss to Dandy Town after holding the post for the past four years.

Bermuda senior national coach Lightbourne assisted Wade on a voluntary basis this past season which saw Zebras finish a disappointing fifth in the Premier Division standings.

When contacted yesterday, Lightbourne declined to speak at great length over the matter.

He did, however, confirm he had been approached by PHC officials concerning the top post.

?I have always shown an interest in coaching at PHC, but I will have to wait and see what transpires over the upcoming weeks,? the former Walsall and Coventry City striker told .

Lightbourne?s contract as national coach expires at the end of next month.

?PHC have shown an interest and that?s all I am prepared to say at this particular moment,? added Lightbourne, who possesses a UEFA B Coaching License.
