Police continue to investigate rape case
The investigation into a gang rape committed earlier this year is continuing.
On June 18 at 3 a.m., a 24-year-old woman from the UK got into a car on Bermudiana Road, opposite the Splash nightclub
She was driven to a western parish where Police say she was sexually assaulted by four males.
After the attack the woman was picked up from a western parish by taxi and taken home. She later went to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
Police have refused to comment in detail on the case. It is not clear if the woman knew the men. They have also not revealed if she was assaulted in the car or a house.
In June the Police did say that the four suspects were black men aged 18-25. Two months later Police media spokesman Dwayne Caines said Police were still investigating the case but would not say whether a taxi driver who picked up the woman and took her home had come forward.
A Police spokesman said last week there were no new leads in the case but the investigation was still active. He said Police were currently following up on all leads and appealed for any witnesses to contact the Police at 299-4407 or 295-1140 or the anonymous Crimestoppers hotline on 1-800-623-8477.
