An altercation took place at Bermuda College yesterday afternoon between prison officers and a young man believed to be an inmate.

Bermuda College spokesperson Evelyn James-Barnett said a report had been received that someone taking the GED exam had been involved in an altercation with prison officers.

The Bermuda College serves as a centre for those taking this exam and Mrs. James-Barnett made it clear that the man was not a student at the college, but simply taking the exam on campus.

She could not verify if the young man involved was indeed an inmate.
