Opposition MP Jamahl Simmons is on the mend after suffering a heart scare.

The United Bermuda Party MP, who is trying to head off an attempt to oust him from his Pembroke West seat, underwent a batch of hospital tests after admitting himself with chest pains late last month.

Subsequent tests have failed to show up any more problems after initially finding an irregular heart beat.

He said: ?It might be a one-off fluke thing. I am back in the gym. I am basically 80 percent there.?

He said a new date of the crunch AGM in his seat, postponed in light of his illness, had yet to be found.
