Ignoring a stop sign landed a Devonshire man before Magistrates on Friday.

Benjamin Thomas Wilson admitted failing to stop on South Road, Southampton, on October 21, last year. The defendant also pleaded guilty to not wearing a seatbelt on November 8, 2005, on Kindley Field Road, St. George's.

The court heard yesterday how the 22-year-old failed to appear in court on two occasions to answer the charges.

Wilson, of Devon Heights, told Magistrate Tyrone Chin that the tickets, relating to appearances last November and December, were put in a wallet that he later lost.

Mr. Chin fined the defendant a total of $150. Referring to Wilson's arrest the previous night on a warrant, he added: "You waste our time, we waste your time if you do not show up."
