Watch Bermuda's Perozzi on pay per view
FOR those who missed Bermuda's Teresa Perozzi's first pro bout staged on the island on June 12, they can catch the bout this Saturday night on pay per view on Cablevision starting at 7.00.
Perozzi was beaten by Monika Nunez by an unanimous points decision in the super middleweight bout ? a decision which left Perozzi shocked.
"I just can't believe it, I am shocked," she said after the four-round bout.
And she was not the only one. While many fight fans left the fight night wondering how the Bermudian boxer lost, some commentators in the US who have watched the fight on film have also said the win should have gone to the Bermudian.
Rick Richardson from the Independent Media Services in Bermuda which helped stage the bout with promoters Star Boxing in New York City, said: "I understand that some of the commentators in the US thought that Teresa won the fight." Richardson added that the pay per view event on Saturday would be a good way to look at the fight again for those who were there at CedarBridge Academy's gym, and also a great chance for those who had to miss the fight night. Over 1,000 fans crowded the CedarBridge gym to watch not only Perozzi's fight but also the main bout between former Olympic silver medallist David Defiagbon and Texan Ron Guerrero. Defiagbon won the bout for the vacant World Boxing Association championship with a display of consummate boxing class.
IMS's Richardson said the pay per view event would last about two hours with other bouts from the night also to be shown.
