The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index gained for the second straight day as Bank of Butterfield's stock rose on the back of good earnings announced on Monday.

The Index closed up 5.51 points at 2,186.01 on volume of 5,814 shares worth $141,274.

Butterfield shares rose 25 cents to close at $31.25 on volume of 4,000 shares. BF&M and Bermuda Aviation Services shares were unchanged at $9.50 and $7.50 each.
