Canadiens topple Oilers
Canadiens 9 Oilers 3
This game in the Bermuda InLine Hockey League was forecast to be tightly contested match with the Oilers and rookie coach Jeff Weibe coming into the game undefeated.
The action started solidly in the Oilers favour as they jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the opening period with goals by Adam Weech on a hard snap shot through the five hole and Sam Brook depositing a nice cross-rink pass from Eddie Dawson into the back of the net for his first goal of the season.
The momentum quickly turned though with star forward Ryan Goddard taking things into his own hands scoring six of the nine unanswered Canadian goals. He was supported well by the MacNeil brothers Tyler and Riley who chipped in two and one goals respectively. Many of the goals were a result of strong forechecking by the Canadians forwards who peppered Oiler goalie Toby Brook with shots throughout the contest.
Beckett Simmons finally stopped the bleeding for the Oilers rounding out the scoring with a nice tip-in off a passing play from brother Laird and Ethan Philip. Goaltender Alex Griffin made several key stops early in the contest to keep the Canadians in the game.

Leafs 4 Senators 1
A faithful group of supporting parents enjoyed a fast moving, closely skated game at the Bermuda In-Line Skating rink at Admiralty Park which saw the Leafs defeat the Senators 4-1.
The Senators put up a continuous battle and were successful in sustaining constant pressure on their opponents. The end-to-end skating and ever-increasing speed and accuracy showcased the improving skills on both teams. However, Mikey Daley was unstoppable as he netted all four goals for the Leafs.
Senators goalie Grenville Lines shone, displaying game-long determination. He threw himself to the ground without fear countless times in the attempt to protect his goal, but wasn't able to fend off the relentless Leaf offensive despite a string of awe-inspiring saves. Taylor Ruck, Leafs' goalie, enjoyed strong offensive production , excellent defence and aided his cause with many great stops.

Excellent passing by the Senators' Henry Taylor and Nikolas Miranthis and some good interceptions by the Leafs all ended after an accurate Michael Betteto pass was turned into a blistering goal by Daley completing his hat trick.
The Senators never faltered. They were able to keep the pressure on and the energy level at its peak. Number 9 Tadhg O'Shaughnessy brought that energy to fruition with a decisive goal, putting Senators on the scoreboard. Also of note was Senators' Daniel Heintzman who skated particularly well and showed some impressive stick handling.
Towards the end of the game, a side-by-side wrestle for the puck between Leafs' Nicholas Hall and Senators' David Lehman, resulted in a first-ever penalty shot which was taken by Lehman. Lehman sped in on goal but blistered the shot just wide.
Mikey Daley's impressive four-goal game was nailed when he scored cleanly after an assist from Nicholas Hall and Matthew Betteto.
A final, definitive save by Taylor Ruck finished off an action-packed afternoon in the sunshine.
