Butterfield shares edge lower in New York

No shares traded on the Bermuda Stock Exchange as The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed unchanged on 2,559.18.
For the week, the index slipped 0.08 per cent, on a 1.1 per cent fall in the value of BF&M shares.
On Friday, the US-listed shares of Butterfield Bank fell five cents, or 0.14 per cent, to close on $36.66 on the New York Stock Exchange on below-average volume of 64,899 shares. The bank last traded at $37.26 on the BSX.
The BSX Insurance Index gained 27.81 points, or 1.6 per cent, to close on 1,770.9 on Friday.
