Call to take part in Youth Creativity Competition

The Department of Culture is again hosting its Emancipation Youth Creativity Competition as part of this month’s Emancipation observances.

And Bermuda’s young people are being encouraged to submit their poems, WhatsApp or YouTube videos, or any other artwork or creative expression exploring the idea of ‘How Have My Ancestors Made Me Strong’.

A Department spokesperson said that this “creative activity is a way to engage our young people about the importance of celebrating and understanding the importance of Emancipation as part of Bermuda’s history”.

“It’s also in keeping with the common theme of resilience, something that has greatly defined us greatly over the last 18 months. This competition can help explore what has helped us endure over the generations.”

Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place entries. Submission deadline is Monday, July 26.

Submissions can be e-mailed to culture@gov.bm or sent via WhatsApp to 333-8048. Please include the competition title in the subject line or message.

You must be Registered or to post comment or to vote.
