Three charged with smuggling $3.6m worth of cannabis

Three men appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday accused of conspiring to smuggle more than $3.6 million worth of cannabis.

Zachary Morris, 27, Mikkail Crockwell, 31, and Eugene Ball, 28, were all charged with the offence, which was alleged to have happened between an unknown date and December 21, 2019.

None of the men were required to enter a plea as the matter must be heard in front of the Supreme Court.

The court heard that about 79 pounds of drugs were alleged to have been found.

Mr Morris, from Smith’s, as well as Mr Crockwell and Mr Ball, both from St George’s, were released on $30,000 bail.

Magistrate Tyrone Chin ordered the men to report to the Hamilton Police Station three times a week and to surrender their passports.

They will appear in the Supreme Court on September 1.
