Trench work in Warwick will move further west next week with a stretch of Middle Road reduced to one lane for more than two months.

The Ministry of Public Works told motorists today that the affected portion will start to the west of the junction with Burnt House Hill and continue towards Camp Hill.

The lane closure – for Belco trench work – will run from October 19 to December 31.

Working hours will be from 7.30am to 6pm every day.

A notice from the ministry said: “Traffic controls will be under direction of Intelligent Trenching representatives and will be managed through traffic control signals and signage.

“The motoring public travelling west is advised to seek alternative routes via Khyber Pass to South Road to avoid this trench work sections.

“The motoring public travelling east is advised to seek alternative routes via Camp Hill to South Road to avoid this trench work section.”

It added that there will be signs for detour routes.

The notice said: “The Ministry of Public Works wishes to encourage the full co-operation of the public and apologises for any inconvenience that may result.”

Any questions about the work can be directed to Jonathan Pedro, Belco project manager, on 295-5111 ext 1441.
