City restaurant’s lane to get brighter look

Washington Lane (File photograph)

A city lane that is home to an Italian restaurant is to get a facelift.

The owners of La Trattoria in Washington Lane in Hamilton said new, colourful bricks would replace the grey paving stones outside.

Nicky Russo, general manager of the restaurant, said: “We are very excited by the improvement to the walkway as you approach La Trattoria, especially as more of our guests are now enjoying al fresco dining in the Washington Lane.”

The restaurant will not open for lunch next Monday or Tuesday to allow the paving work to be completed.

But Mr Russo said La Trattoria would be open for dinner and takeout on both nights.
