A woman was taken to hospital this afternoon after her car was in collision with a Belco pole in Devonshire.

A police spokeswoman said that at about noon, officers came across the scene of a single-vehicle collision on Middle Road in Devonshire, near the US Consulate General.

“Initial information suggests that a woman driving a private motorcar was travelling in an easterly direction when she lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a utility pole,” the spokeswoman said.

“The woman, who is believed to be the only occupant in the vehicle, was transported to King Edward VII Memorial hospital via ambulance for treatment of head and neck injuries.”

Traffic was being diverted this afternoon at Montpelier Road and Flora Duffy Hill while police processed the scene.
