Part of Middle Road in Southampton has been closed temporarily owing to poor conditions, the Bermuda Police Service said this morning.

A spokeswoman added that a stretch in the Barnes Corner area would be closed until crews from Works and Engineering could carry out an assessment.

She explained: “Initial information suggests that a truck lost a load of gravel causing an obstruction to both the east and west-bound lanes.

“Traffic headed east is being diverted at the South Road and Middle Road junction and traffic headed west is being diverted at the Middle Road and Church Road junction until the affected area is deemed safe to travel.”
