Motorcyclist suffers head injury in crash with car

A motorcyclist suffered a head injury and was taken to hospital after a crash between a car and a bike yesterday.

At about 4.15pm police and other first responders were called to a report of a serious two-vehicle collision.

A police spokeswoman said: “Details are limited at this time, however, initial inquiries suggest that both vehicles were travelling in opposite directions on Marsh Folly Road, Pembroke.

“It was reported that the male driver of the motor car attempted to negotiate a right hand turn on to Blackwatch Pass when the collision occurred.”

The male motorcyclist was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where he is being treated for a suspected head injury. The driver of the car was not injured.

The spokeswoman added: “The road has been closed and traffic diversions are in place at Cedar Avenue and Dutton Avenue while police process the scene. However the roads are expected to reopen around 6.15pm.”

Police are appealing or anyone who may have been in the area of Marsh Folly Road and Blackwatch Pass around the time of the collision or anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact Acting Sergeant Jason Savoury at jsavoury@bps.bm or call 211 or the main police line 295-0011.
