People interested in joining statutory bodies should step forward, Rena Lalgie, the Governor, has said.

Ms Lalgie called on those with the skills and knowledge required to make a contribution.

The Governor said: “I am committed to ensuring an open and fair process for appointments to the statutory bodies for which I am responsible.

“The work of these boards is vital to good governance, and I would encourage those who believe they possess the requisite knowledge, skills and experience to make an effective contribution to the work of the boards to submit an expression of interest.”

A Government House spokeswoman said that membership requirements vary by board and are decided in accordance with the Constitution or legislation.

She said further information on the matter would be announced “in due course”.
