A 23-year-old woman pleaded not guilty yesterday to possessing five rounds of ammunition and a Glock pistol magazine.

Rhea Virgil, a Bermudian who lives in Loganville, Georgia, is alleged to have committed the offence on Monday.

She chose to have her case heard in Magistrates’ Court when she appeared before Senior Magistrate Maxanne Anderson yesterday.

Elizabeth Christopher, representing Ms Virgil, said her client had a concealed weapon permit in the US and had returned to Bermuda recently for a family member’s funeral.

Ms Anderson adjourned her case to September 12 at 2.30pm. Ms Virgil was released on $10,000 bail until that time and was ordered to surrender all travel documents.
