A three-time Paralympian has returned to host an annual accessibility campaign.

Jessica Lewis will be the face of the Rolling for WindReach challenge, which encourages participants to compete a 22-mile challenge through any medium of their choice.

Ms Lewis said that the third annual Rolling for WindReach was unique in that it would be held virtually and in person.

She added: “WindReach provides so many amazing benefits to such a wide variety of people and our community as a whole, so it’s a pleasure to once again be a part of giving some of that support back to them.”

Attendees can complete the race through walking, rowing, running or any other medium.

Participants have been invited to join the last lap in person at Clearwater Beach and Cooper’s Island, both in St David’s.

All funds will go towards WindReach’s educational and therapeutic programmes.

Tammalita Joseph, WindReach’s fund development manager, thanked Ms Lewis and Butterfield & Vallis for their support.

She said: “One of WindReach’s core values is inclusion. We believe in sports for all and would love to see people with diverse abilities participate.

“We invite people in wheelchairs, push chairs, cyclists, parents with their baby joggers, and all types of mobility devices to join us at the last lap of the 22-mile challenge which will be held starting at 9am on November 5, 2022.”

Ms Joseph added: “Participants can track their progress on our event page at Race Day World, take photos and tag us in them with our social media handle windreachbermuda.

“We encourage corporate teams, business groups and others to register and help support WindReach’s educational and therapeutic programmes.”

The first 150 people to register for the competition will receive an event T-shirt.

Volunteers will be available to assist wheelchair and push chair users if necessary. WindReach asked those who will need it to inform them beforehand so that it can pre-arrange help.

Donations can be made through WindReach’s website or through online transfer to their HSBC account WindReach, 010-857621-001, reference R4.

Rolling for WindReach will take place between October 30 and November 5.
