Boat Parade registration deadline is November 9

The deadline to apply to be in this year’s Christmas boat parade is less than three weeks away.

Every participant who registers for the City of Hamilton’s parade will receive a 10 per cent Masters Ltd discount to purchase lights for the event.

This year’s parade will offer prizes in categories including best overall, the people’s choice, most original and children’s choice, to name a few.

The City of Hamilton will be working with Swan Pyrotechnics to bring a bang of fireworks back to Hamilton Harbour.

The city’s senior events and marketing co-ordinator Tamara Smith said: “We are really excited to be able to bring this much loved event and family tradition back to the City of Hamilton as part of our Christmas programme of events.

“To see the harbour lit up with thousands of festive lights is a truly spectacular sight and brings the magic of the holidays to people of all ages.”

HSBC is partnering with the City of Hamilton to bring this year’s parade to fruition.

Head of wealth and personal banking at HSBC Tanya Bule explained: “HSBC is proud to partner with the City of Hamilton to bring this festive favourite event back to Hamilton.

“The City Christmas Boat Parade has always been a highlight of the holiday calendar, getting everyone in the Christmas spirit, and we are delighted to sponsor it for 2022.”

The registration deadline for participation in the parade is Wednesday November 9. People can fill out this form to register.

The parade will begin at 6.30pm on Saturday December 10, with Sunday December 11 scheduled as the rain date.

More information about the parade will be forthcoming and updates can be found on the City’s website.
