The Lindo’s to Lindo’s Road Race, which aims to raise awareness of diabetes and generate funds for the Bermuda Diabetes Association (BDA), will this year take place on Sunday, March 5th.

The competitive 10k run, 4-mile competitive walk and 4-mile fun run/walk will begin at Lindo’s Family Foods in Warwick and will finish at Lindo’s Market in Devonshire, with the event returning to its traditional format after two years of hybrid-style events.

Funds raised from the event will go towards education initiatives within the Bermuda Diabetes Association and there will be prizes for the fastest three men and women in the competitive run along with the fastest two from each of the following age-groups:

Junior (12 - 20)

Open (20 - 29)

Masters (40 - 49)

Senior Master (50 – 59)

Veteran (60 – 69)

Experienced Veteran (70+)

The fastest two competitive walkers (male and female) will also receive prizes as will the school with the greatest number of participants – whether walking or running.

Zach Moniz, Lindo’s Family Foods Manager, said: “We are very proud to continue to support the Bermuda Diabetes Association. They do vital work in raising awareness of diabetes, helping Bermudians to prevent it and, of course, supporting those who have it.

“After three years, it’s great to be getting the Lindo’s to Lindo’s back on the road again and we hope to see many of our Lindo’s customers and family stretching their legs for a good cause.’

Sara Bosch de Noya, Diabetes Educator at the Bermuda Diabetes Association, said: ‘We are so grateful for the continued support of Lindo’s with this annual community event and fundraiser. The past few years have been a challenge, and we are excited to be able to do this walk all together in person again.

“With so many Bermudians affected by diabetes – potentially as much as 20 per cent of the population – the funds raised are more critical than ever to ensure those who need our support get it.”

Competitive entries are $35 each and the fun events are $30 each. Juniors (those under 18) may compete in either category for a special rate of $15 with the registration deadline Saturday, March 4th. To find out more about the event visit RaceDayWorld.com.
