A woman who died while swimming off Southlands beach in Warwick last Friday has been identified as British tourist Amanda Chibwe.

Ms Chibwe, 31, was pulled from the water at around 4.45pm. She was taken to hospital by ambulance but was pronounced dead a short time later.

According to a police spokesman, Ms Chibwe was a UK national who was visiting the island.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious.
