ZBM TV news anchorman Gary Moreno is to leave the Bermuda Broadcasting Company but will not be moving to the soon-to-air Government-run TV channel.

The future of one of Bermuda's best-known TV presenters Mr. Moreno was linked to the forthcoming Government TV channel by Bermuda Broadcasting Company managing director Rick Richardson, who earlier this week confirmed with The Royal Gazette that a number of staff appeared to have been lured away by "hefty salaries" offered at the Government station. Mr. Richardson was not aware if his leading anchorman was leaving but was aware of an informal conversation that suggested Mr. Moreno had considered a Government TV station position.

On Wednesday, Mr. Moreno declined to speculate on his future, but The Royal Gazette>has since learned he intends to leave ZBM for an unspecified new opportunity, but not with Government TV.
