The annual SPCA Wine Tasting and Quiz takes place on June 30 at a waterfront setting.

This year's theme is 'A Good Year', based on the book by Peter Mayle. Those attending have the chance to taste a variety of French wines, plus hors d'oeuvres.

Afterwards, the new Harbourfront Restaurant will offer a three-course French dinner for $40 per person — reservations recommended.

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals event takes place in the grounds of Fidelity International Ltd at 42 Crow Lane, between 5.30 and 7.30 p.m.

The annual SPCA Calendar Photo Contest is now also open. Entry forms can be picked up at The SPCA Shelter, Animal and Garden House, Ettrick Animal Hospital, Noah's Ark, Endsmeet Animal Hospital, Hannover Veterinary Hospital and Avocado Kennels.

Any animal which is a resident of Bermuda can enter. Entry is $5 for each submitted photo, with all fees going to the calendar's production costs. The final closing date is July 1.
