Coastguard tows adrift boat to safety

A boat stranded off the West End was towed to safety by members of the Bermuda Coastguard yesterday.

Maritime operations confirmed it received an urgent call from the crew of the Princess, which was disabled near Nine Beaches in Sandys, at about 6.15pm.

The vessel, which had three people on board at the time, experienced engine problems, and her anchor was not holding to the sea floor.

The coastguard was on scene shortly after the call was made and safely towed the boat to the Mangrove Bay public dock.
