Man in hospital with serious injuries after crashing rental bike on Pitts Bay Road

A man is in hospital with serious injuries after crashing his rental cycle at 12.20am Wednesday on Pitts Bay Road, near the junction with Turnstile Lane, in Pembroke.
“Initial information suggests that a man on a livery cycle was travelling north on Pitts Bay Road when he lost control of the vehicle, causing him to strike a wall and utility pole,” a police spokeswoman said.
“The man was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of possible head injuries.”
A section of Pitts Bay Road was closed for a little more than an hour while police processed the scene.
