Leader, Tucker the top seeds in Seniors Open
Earl Leader will be the men’s top seed and Jo Tucker the leading women’s seed when the annual Bacardi Seniors Open tennis tournament gets underway on Monday at the Pomander Gate Tennis Club.
Eligibility requirements are that female players must be 40 or older and male players 45 and older.
In the men’s singles, Leader has been seeded first followed by David Lambert, Brian Way and Eugene Simmons.
Tucker’s main competition among the ladies will come from second seed Kim Burns and third seed Rhonda Caza.
In the men’s doubles the seeds, in order, are Sam Maybury/Steve Bean, Eldon Daniels/David Lambert, Mark Melvin/David Hyland and Earl Leader/Erwin Leader.
Jill Finnigan and Dede Cooper are seeded one in ladies’ doubles followed by Heidi Boyle/Gill Butterfield and Kim Burns/Laverne Stowe.
