Woman in custody after slashing another, punching third woman
Two women were attacked and required treatment at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after an incident at a Lemon Grove Road, Hamilton Parish residence.
Officers attended the scene on Tuesday night and say it appears the victims, an 18-year-old from Warwick and a 21-year-old from Hamilton Parish, were assaulted outside their home around 10.45 p.m.
The suspect, a 29-year-old St. George’s woman, arrived on a motorcycle and proceeded to punch both women in the face and used a bladed weapon to slash the face and neck of the Warwick woman.
Their attacker fled the scene on her bike and the women were taken to hospital, where the 18-year-old received treatment for neck and facial lacerations.
She is currently listed in stable condition on a general ward. The 21-year-old was treated for facial soreness and released. The culprit subsequently turned herself in at the Southside Police Station and was arrested. Inquiries are underway.
Cycle rider arrested after chase
A high-speed Police chase involving two motorcycles ended with one rider escaping and the other under arrest.
Officers in a parked car outside the Port Royal Fire Station, in Middle Road, Southampton, saw two bikes speeding around 2.35 a.m. yesterday.
Police followed them and saw them riding on the wrong side of the road at times. They refused to stop after Police activated their car siren. One rider managed to get away, while the other travelled onto Whale Bay Road, into a parking lot with officers behind.
One of the riders, a 21-year-old Southampton man, dropped his motorcycle and tried to escape on foot, but was caught.
He was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and taken to Hamilton Police Station and detained after failing an alcohol breath test. Inquiries into the incident are underway.
