Squash kids find top form
Bermuda’s young squash players finished the Junior CASA Squash tournament in the British Virgin Islands with some encouraging performances.
Emma Keane, one of the youngest players in the tournament won her play-off match in girls under-13 group to finish third overall in her division.
Bermuda Girls’ team captain Laura Robinson also won her play-off in girls under-19 section to secure third spot.
In the girls under-15s, Rachel Barnes finished eighth, while her sister, Kelly, had a tough match but triumphed 3-1 against fellow Bermudian Alex Furtado in the under-17s to take fifth and sixth places respectively.
In the under-19s, Robert Maycock won third place when his opponent had to concede after suffering an ankle injury the previous day. Maycock was last year’s under-17 champion and his third place finish this year, as one of the younger players under-19, bodes well for his chances next year.
