LONDON (Bloomberg) — UK consumers' satisfaction with the Bank of England fell to a seven-year low in May after inflation accelerated to a record, a central bank survey showed.The balance of positive and negative replies to a question on how good a job policy makers are doing to control inflation fell to 36 percent in May from 37 percent in February, a quarterly survey by GfK NOP Ltd. published by the central bank showed yesterday. The survey of 1,997 people was conducted on May 10-15.

The Bank of England, which is preparing the ground for its fifth rate increase since August, is facing its biggest challenge since taking charge of interest rate policy 10 years ago.
