Pay talks

THE Mid-Ocean News understands the Bermuda Union of Teachers is now in talks with Government for a new wage agreement for its members.According to sources, the Ministry has made an offer and is now awaiting response from BUT head Michael Charles.

On the table is an increase of 4.5 per cent for the current school year and a slightly smaller rise of four per cent for the coming year. A pay packet for 2008/2009 has yet to be negotiated.
