Today is “No Alcohol Day’ and the Centre for Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention has added a highly visible component designed to shock.
Overnight officials placed cars with actual accident damage in 16 high profile places to grab the attention of morning commuters. Trimingham Hill roundabout, the Bailey’s Bay Post Office and Middle Road in Devonshire are just a few of the locations. CADA chairman Anthony Santucci said: “Our goal is to remind people of the consequences of drinking and driving, particularly today, on No Alcohol Day.” Mr. Santucci also points out some of the cars involved today were not damaged in alcohol related accidents.
