Children love being creative, so let them try their hand at art. It is great way for your tyke to express themselves.

CRAFT IDEAS:

Paint a Shell<$>: Find fun shells and stones from the outdoors. Keep a glass jar of items you’ve collected during a stroll on the beach or just interesting rocks that your child has found in your garden.

<$> Have your child paint a favourite scene on a shell or just make it a multicolour work of art.

A Kid’s Mural: Let your child clip out pictures from magazines that show or describe his favourite things. Then let him glue the pictures all over the poster board with the glue stick.

Let him add embellishments like glitter and stickers if he chooses.

Allow him to hang his artwork in his room as a visual reminder of all the things he loves. This project can also be done with wooden boxes (such as cigar boxes) or frames.

Master Works: <$>Ask your child to paint whatever they love. Inspiration can come from your backyard, a magazine or just their imagination.

As an incentive to their creativity, tell them that you will hang their favourite picture in your office or place it on your bedside table.

Inexpensive, plastic frames are great to have on hand. Every time your child paints their next masterpiece you can easily change the painting.
