As industry lines blur and uncertainty grows in the face of economic and technological upheaval, gatherings such as the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce’s Budget Breakfast are essential, according to a PwC executive.

Speaking ahead of Monday’s event, PwC territories lead, Arthur Wightman, said: “The annual Budget Breakfast is an essential platform for engaging the Government and business community in meaningful dialogue about the fiscal direction of the economy.”

Mr Wightman said PwC research had found that two out of five chief executive officers believe their businesses would not be viable in a decade without transformation.

“As Bermuda businesses deal with everything from tariff uncertainty to rapid technological change and other global mega trends, PwC’s latest research shows sector lines are blurring, with nearly 40 per cent of CEOs entering new industries,” Mr Wightman revealed.

He said forums such as the Chamber’s breakfast were critical for helping business leaders navigate what comes next.

PwC is the main sponsor of the breakfast, arranged to follow Friday’s Budget Speech given by David Burt, the Premier and Minister of Finance.

The chamber promises the breakfast will offer valuable insight into the fiscal priorities, policy directions and economic implications shaping the year ahead.

The breakfast will be held from 8am to 11am at the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club and will include a moderated question and answer session with Mr Burt and Mr Wightman.

Tickets are $85 for chamber members and $110 for non-members with tables of ten available for booking.
