Man admits burglary and attempted theft
A man who stole more than $2,000 worth of items from properties in Devonshire will be sentenced in Magistrates’ Court today.
Dwayne Hassan, 32, admitted trespassing on and stealing a television, nightstand, printed bag and rope and several other items from apartments on Cedar Park Road when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Hassan, from Devonshire, also pleaded guilty to trying to steal earrings, a jacket and a helmet in Pembroke and entering a building on Friendship Lane with intent to steal.
He committed the offences between March 20 and May 12, 2024, but denied doing so during earlier court appearances.
Magistrate Maria Sofianos adjourned the case until today for sentencing and remanded Hassan, who has been behind bars for almost one year, in custody until that time.
