Island charity picks up global award
A Bermuda charity that helps recovering addicts has won an international award for its work.
Pathways Bermuda picked up the prestigious Rehabilitation NPO of the Year Bermuda prize at the Corporate LiveWire Global Awards.
The accolade celebrates Pathways Bermuda’s commitment to providing accessible, and compassionate addiction recovery services.
The awards panel received more than 32,000 nominations from 36 countries, recognising organisations that excel in innovation, ethical practice, service excellence and industry leadership.
Gita Blakeney Saltus, the executive director of Pathways Bermuda, said: “We are truly humbled by this recognition.
“This acknowledgement affirms the heart of our work, and our mission to empower lasting recovery for individuals and families affected by addictions. We are deeply grateful to our donors, partners, and community members who walk alongside us.”
Pathways Bermuda earned commendation for its inclusive and comprehensive approach to recovery. The charity was established 17 years ago and offers a range of outpatient services, including proactive interventions, comprehensive assessments, individual and group counselling and personalised treatment planning.
The judges commended Pathways Bermuda not only for its high-quality care, but also for its commitment to equity — offering subsidised treatment to ensure that financial circumstances never hinder access to recovery.
The organisation’s educational outreach through recovery-related workshops was also praised.
Awards director Andrew White said: “This year’s winners have demonstrated remarkable progress and collectively contributed to global unity.
“We applaud their achievements and look forward to seeing their future advancements.”
