Bermudian goalkeeper Nathan Trott could be playing in the Champions League next season after winning the Danish Superliga title with FC Copenhagen.

Trott picked up his league winners’ medal and held the Superliga trophy aloft with his team-mates after Copenhagen beat Nordsjaelland 3-0 in the final game of the season on Sunday.

The championship ensures that Copenhagen will enter the Champions League in the second qualifying round this summer and will need to make it through three rounds to get the chance to take on some of Europe’s elite teams in the 2025-26 season,

Trott featured in 17 of Copenhagen’s 32 games in the Superliga this season, winning nine, drawing five and losing three of his games between the posts.

After finishing runner-up to Midtjylland in the regular season, he also played a crucial role in the ten-match mini-league which decided the destination of the title, helping his team to two victories against AGF as they secured the title by just a point.

Trott also played ten times in the Europa Conference League as Copenhagen reached the round of 16 before losing over two legs to Chelsea.
