Cox Hallett Wilkinson Ltd has expanded its team with the appointment of two senior attorneys, strengthening the law firm’s capabilities in private client services and litigation.

Nathan Samuels joins the private client team as counsel, while Rachel Carr has been appointed senior associate in the litigation team.

Craig Rothwell, chief executive of CHW, described the hires as “two very positive appointments for the firm”, adding: “Both represent CHW’s commitment to strategically and continuously strengthen the services it provides to clients – in this case, in the areas of private client and litigation.”

Mr Samuels brings nearly 20 years of experience advising both local and international clients. His practice covers estate planning, wills, probate, non-contentious receivership applications and real estate transactions. He is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, and regularly speaks at non-profit events about estate planning and elder abuse.

“Nathan is a welcomed addition to the team,” said Lorren Wilson, director and head of property and private client. “His wealth of knowledge and practical experience will not only complement our existing strengths but will also greatly benefit our clients.”

Ms Carr, who qualified in Scotland in 2012, previously spent more than a decade at international law firm Clyde & Co in Edinburgh. She brings experience across a wide range of disputes, including insurance litigation, personal injury, property, construction, commercial and landlord-tenant cases.

Mr Rothwell said her “international experience will be an asset to our litigation team as we continue to provide the highest quality service to our clients.”

CHW said the additions are part of its broader strategy to meet growing client demand across key practice areas.
