More than $30,000 raised in Lindo’s to Lindo’s
More than $30,000 was raised for the Bermuda Diabetes Association in the Lindo’s to Lindo’s event this year.
A spokeswoman said hundreds of people participated in either a 10K run or competitive or non-competitive four-mile walk in March.
The Mid-Atlantic Athletics Association organised the fundraiser, which was sanctioned by the Bermuda National Athletics Association and brought in $30,353.07 for the charity.
Lori Rockhead, the BDA executive director, said: “The funds raised will directly support our free health screenings, which are essential to early diagnosis and intervention.
“These screenings save lives and reduce long-term complications for those living with diabetes.
“We're deeply grateful to Lindo’s, MAAC and all the sponsors who make this event possible.”
Zach Moniz, the general manager at Lindo’s, added: “More than 25 years in, and we’re so pleased to see that this event still brings out the best in our community.
“We’re proud to have raised more than $30,000 this year for the Bermuda Diabetes Association and to continue supporting their mission of improving the health of all Bermudians.”
