Gayle Lindsay is hoping to continue to be a part of the island’s running community despite returning to the United Kingdom.

The three-times Bermuda Half-Marathon Derby champion is pursuing her dream to become a running coach and is keen to hear from anybody interested in employing her services.

As I move on to pursue a career as a running coach, I’m excited about the opportunities ahead,“ Lindsay said.

“If I can make a positive impact in others’ lives the way running has positively impacted mine, I’ll consider it a success and if anyone is interested in working with me or learning more, feel free to contact me at gaylelindsay1@gmail.com.”

Lindsay is leaving Bermuda with many happy running memories after 12 years and her third consecutive Derby win is something she will cherish.

“When I arrived in Bermuda in 2013, I never could have predicted how pivotal running would become in my life,” she said.

“Over the years, running has not only shaped my personal journey but has also connected me with an amazing community of people, many of whom I now count as lifelong friends.

“Winning the Bermuda Half-Marathon Derby three times is something I am incredibly proud of. It was a little emotional this year crossing the finish line and knowing it could be my last, but it was also the best possible way to say farewell.

“The day after this year's race, someone stopped me on the street and told me I had inspired them to start back running. Moments like that are what make me so passionate about helping others find joy in running.

“I’ve been overwhelmed by support and well wishes, which has made leaving Bermuda one of the hardest things I’ve ever done but I'll definitely be back to visit.”
