Cyclist injured in two-vehicle collision in Smith’s
A cyclist was being treated this morning for injuries sustained in a two-vehicle collision that took place in Smith’s.
Police say the crash was one of three that happened within 45-minutes of each other.
A spokesman for the Bermuda Police Service said that at about 8.15am, first responders were dispatched to the area where North Shore Road meets Jennings Road in Smith’s.
He added: “Details remain limited at this time. However, it is believed that a car and a pedal cycle were involved.
“The pedal cyclist, who apparently sustained head and leg injuries, has been taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.
“Police officers are diverting traffic away from the collision scene while it is processed.
“A medical update on the injured individual is anticipated in due course.”
The other two incidents were reported to be in the area of Middle Road and Lighthouse Road in Southampton and in the area of Store Hill, North Shore Road in Smith’s.
Witnesses to any of the incidents were asked to call 211.
The BPS spokesman added: “Motorists are reminded to ride and drive responsibly, with care for other road users.”
