Police identify man whose body was found in Pembroke

A man whose body was found in Pembroke over the weekend has been identified as Jason Liburd.

The 54-year-old was discovered outside a home on Fentons Drive at about 1.50pm on Sunday.

Mr Liburd was pronounced dead by an on-call physician shortly after the discovery was made by an area resident.

An investigation into the matter is under way and the Bermuda Police Service said that an autopsy will be carried out to determine the man’s cause of death.

The BPS confirmed on Monday that the death was being treated as suspicious and appealed again for witnesses yesterday.

The BPS said: “The Bermuda Police Service extend their condolences to Mr Liburd’s family.

“A BPS family liaison officer has been appointed to assist Mr Liburd’s family during this difficult time.”
