Health minister highlights importance of blood donation
The Minister of Health encouraged residents to give blood after she donated in under seven minutes.
Kim Wilson said: “You could be the reason someone gets a second chance.”
She noted: “This simple and brief act took 6 minutes, 53 seconds and has the potential to make a life-changing difference for someone in need.
“Every drop counts. Giving blood is one of the quickest, easiest and most powerful ways we can help others.”
Ms Wilson added: “I encourage everyone who is eligible to take a few minutes out of their day to donate.”
The Government said that blood donations are urgently needed year-round to ensure hospitals have the supplies necessary for patients undergoing treatment including surgery, cancer treatment and trauma care.
