Ornamental Concrete Products Ltd will remain at its longstanding Devonshire location for at least another year, the company announced this week.

The business, formerly known as Bermuda Ornamental Concrete Products, was purchased earlier this year by Surface Experts Ltd. At the time, plans were in place to relocate operations from 11 Vesey Street, Devonshire, to SEL’s premises at Duck’s Puddle in Hamilton Parish.

However, after hearing from customers, the company has decided to stay put for now.

“When our customers speak, we listen,” said Randy Rochester, chief executive of Polaris Holding Company Ltd, which owns SEL. “We appreciate the invaluable direct feedback we have received since SEL acquired Ornamental Concrete Products Ltd this spring. As a result, we are extending our transition period in the current location to ensure the best experience for all customers.”

Mr Rochester added that the Devonshire site has been a familiar stop for residents seeking concrete decorations, wall plaques and other construction and landscaping products.

“Bermuda residents have been going to the same location for years,” he said. “As we continue to provide quality products with excellent service, we are happy to meet our customers where they are.”

Ornamental Concrete Products Ltd was rebranded earlier this year following the acquisition. The company said it remains committed to providing its signature line of products while considering future plans for relocation.

Known for its distinctive wall plaques, paving stones, columns and balustrades, the acquired company has been in business for nearly 40 years.

The purchase is part of a broader strategy by Polaris to diversify its portfolio and bolsters SEL’s presence in the construction supply market, bringing decorative and structural concrete elements under its umbrella.

Polaris also owns Stevedoring Services Ltd, Equipment Sales and Rentals Ltd and Duck’s Puddle Properties Ltd. SEL, a fully Bermudian-owned subsidiary of Polaris, rebranded from East End Asphalt in 2023 as it expanded beyond paving into broader surface and infrastructure solutions.
