New member appointed to Public Service Commission
Andrew Murdoch, the Governor, has appointed a woman with extensive human resources experience to the Public Service Commission.
A statement from Government House said that Dawn Eversley was appointed on July 29 to the commission, which oversees promotions, appointments and disciplinary control of Bermuda’s public service, for a three-year term.
The statement said: “Ms Eversley has extensive human resources experience in both the public and private sectors, locally and internationally.
“She is well-versed in the frameworks governing public officers and civil servants, as well as the consultative and collective bargaining processes with major unions within the Public Service.”
Ms Eversley, who also serves on the employment and human rights tribunals, said it was a privilege to be appointed to the commission.
She explained: “This is a full circle moment for me, I was appointed to my first post in public service by the PSC as a trainee personnel officer.
“I look forward to being a productive member of the commission, while giving back to my community.”
Mr Murdoch said: “Ms Eversley’s experience and her commitment to public service will strengthen the commission’s role in fostering a merit-based, accountable Civil Service.”
He added that the commission “provides an assurance to the people of Bermuda that [Public Service] functions are being done with integrity and fairness”.
