KPMG names physician as new partner
Edward Fitzgerald has been promoted to KPMG Bermuda partner, subject to immigration approval, the firm announced tonight.
Dr Fitzgerald currently serves as head of healthcare and life sciences for the KPMG Islands Group and leads the Global Island Healthcare Centre of Excellence, launched in Bermuda in 2024.
Also global co-lead, Health Equity & Access in Developing Markets for KPMG International, his promotion reflects his exceptional contributions to healthcare transformation across island jurisdictions and developing markets, KPMG said.
A press statement added: “His leadership has been instrumental in establishing Bermuda as a global hub for healthcare innovation through the Centre of Excellence, which supports governments, regulators, payers, providers, [non-governmental organisations] and international development organisations in addressing the unique challenges of island-based healthcare systems.”
KPMG said the centre has become a hub for sharing best practices, conducting research and fostering collaboration among healthcare stakeholders, leveraging a network of over 5,000 professionals and nearly 200 clinicians, providing solutions for island populations.
Dr Fitzgerald commented: “Delivering accessible, affordable, high-quality care can be challenging for island communities, given their geographical locations and smaller scale.
“I’m grateful for this opportunity to lead a team of island-based professionals in Bermuda, the Caribbean, Crown Dependencies and the Mediterranean who are all dedicated to supporting healthcare for our islands.”
