Man arrested for drink-driving, disqualified driving, aggression

A man is expected to appear in court for drink-driving, aggressive behaviour and driving while disqualified.

The Bermuda Police Service said that officers were on the scene of a traffic collision on Harrington Sound Road, Smith’s, at about 3.30am on Sunday, when a car drove to the area.

Officers tried to stop the driver, a 27-year-old man, but he ignored them and attempted to drive through the scene before eventually complying.

Police suspected that the driver was impaired and attempted to arrest him on suspicion of drink-driving, but the man became combative and had to be restrained.

It was later discovered that the man had been disqualified from driving all vehicles until January 2026.

The driver was further arrested for use of offensive and threatening behaviour, as well as driving while disqualified.

Police said yesterday that the man had been bailed and was expected to appear before the courts.
